ALURGITE

The Alurgite coffee table marks the beginning of a series of works inspired by a personal exploration of minerals. Through the observation of images obtained from the electron microscope, I embarked on a journey to capture the primordial essence of matter, immersing myself in the complexity of mineral structures and seeking to enhance their intrinsic beauty.

In particular, this creation is inspired by the mineral Alurgite. Using Marwoolus®, an innovative material composed of wool fibers and marble powder, I sought to recreate microscopic portions of the mineral’s crystalline structure, reworking it on a macro scale. The versatility of Marwoolus® in colors and forms allows homage to be paid to the richness and variety of the elements that compose such invisible structures, from which the external form of minerals originates, bringing to light the hidden wonder of matter.
